Womble Company, Inc. is pleased to announce its recent purchase of all the assets of Aegion Coatings located in Conroe Texas. The purchased facilities expands our capabilities to service the oil, gas and other industries. We are now able to provide additional services such as the coating of fittings, bends, fabricated pipes and many other specialty items. The facility in Conroe is in operation, and is ready to offer the same services that were available under its previous ownership.

and Services for Customers in the Oil and Gas Sector

Womble Company, Inc. recently completed the acquisition of LaBarge Coating, which was headquartered in the Houston suburb of Channelview. Founded in Houston in 1972, Womble Company, Inc. has acquired coating facilities, pipe storage yards, and all other tangible assets previously owned by LaBarge.
Womble Company, Inc. is recognized as one of the leading independent pipe coaters in the Gulf Coast Region serving major companies in the oil and gas industry. Through this acquisition, Womble Company, Inc. has added resources and services to expand its business operations and support its growing customer base for coating services. The LaBarge brand, employees, and customer base are assimilating into Womble Company, Inc. operations effective immediately. Womble Company, Inc. now employs over 400 people and operates seven facilities in the greater Houston area.

Womble Company, Inc. operations now span more than 400 acres that include seven facilities in the greater Houston area: the Sheffield corporate headquarters, the Main Yard, the West Yard, the North Yard, the Greensport Yard, the Kelley Street Yard and two yards previously owned by LaBarge -- the South Sheldon Yard and the Shields Street Yard both in Channelview, Texas.
The Main Yard is situated on 100 acres and contains bare pipe, 3 Fusion Bond Epoxy/Abrasion Resistant Overcoating (FBE/ARO) plants, a cement lining plant, receiving racks, rail car access, and a barge dock. Plant 1 applies FBE and ARO and can accommodate pipe as large as 26 inches in diameter and up to 65 feet long. Plant 2 applies FBE and can accommodate joints up to 12 inches in diameter and up to 58 feet long. Plant 3’s capacities are 12 to 48 inches and lengths of up to 100 feet. The cement plant is where all concrete weight coating is applied. The West Yard covers 67 acres and contains bare pipe, coated pipe, and applies sand blasting. All large diameter FBE and all ARO are housed in the West Yard. The North Yard covers 43 acres and houses small diameter coated pipe as well as the plant where lacquer and Zap-Wrap are applied. All four yards are located within a mile of the corporate office at Sheffield. The Kelley Street yard is where all air cured and specialty coating systems are applied.
These two newly acquired properties supply an additional 130 acres to Womble Company, Inc.’s pipe storage operations, as well as providing Womble Company, Inc. with two additional plants capable of applying FBE and ARO from sizes 12 to 48 inches, and a third plant capable of applying FBE and ARO to fittings.
